USE, or Utilize Senior Energy, is a non-profit job referral service, staffed by volunteers, that matches seniors (50+) seeking work with employers who are looking to employ seniors on a part or full-time basis.
USE deals both with businesses and households in the Greenwich area and the surrounding communities. There is no fee to applicants or employers.
The ever-growing number of senior men and women includes many intelligent, able-bodied people who still want and need work. Age brings wisdom and experience, and most of the people who come to USE seeking work continue to have energy and motivation.
USE’s 40 years of experience and its recent poll of Greenwich businesses reveal that numerous commercial enterprises in town welcome qualified seniors for hard-to-fill vacancies in their firms.
Even when financial security is not a problem, total retirement can be an extremely stressful time in life. Especially for those who have led productive professional lives, the absence of responsibility and feeling of productivity can be frustrating and debilitating. People in this condition often jump at the opportunity to take jobs, even those bringing less pay and prestige than their past employments.
USE’s role is to make the connection.
