To the Editor:
Scott Frantz is the most effective Senator in Hartford, and we are fortunate to have such an intelligent and compassionate person dedicated to making Connecticut a leader again in attracting new business, environmentally friendly and a safer place to live.
I have been following Scott’s career and his advocacy for fiscal responsibility for over a decade. Scott has been the proverbial “canary in the coalmine” by calling out the reckless and irresponsible spending by the Democratic majority in Hartford. The Democrats are poor managers of Connecticut’ finances and have proven that fact over and again. The Democrats have buried Connecticut under an unimaginable level of debt, and their solution is to keep raising taxes. The Democrats are masters of “bait and switch politics” and are focusing on social issues to distract voters from the real issues and the necessary solutions.
The Hartford Courant described the state’s economy in a “state of malaise” as Connecticut ranks close to the bottom of the 50 states for strength of economy and business friendliness. The Democrats repeated solution is to raise taxes — oh yeah, that will really attract business and new residents — great idea.
Taxpayers are fleeing the state under the Democratic majority, and that leaves the rest of us responsible for our fiscal disaster. As I listened to Scott and his opponent debate, I was puzzled. At worst, Alex Bergstein is a puppet for Connecticut’s misguided and self-serving representatives in D.C., at best, she is financially delusional by way of her priorities and recommended solutions. I must agree with one of her statements, “insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.” Yes, sending more Democrats to Hartford to solidify their control and exacerbate CT’s problems would be insane.
We need Scott Frantz to be elected to State Senator now more than ever.
