Columbia University professor and author, Sam Freedman, will speak during Greenwich Reform’s Shabbat service, on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.

Freedman will speak about a fascinating but under-appreciated historical moment right after World War II, when returning GI’s, especially black and Jewish ones, take on America’s homegrown prejudices.

Freedman is an award-winning author, columnist, and professor. A former columnist for The New York Times and a journalism professor at Columbia University, he is the author of eight acclaimed books, and is currently at work on his ninth, which will be about Hubert Humphrey, Civil Rights, and the 1948 Democratic convention.

Refreshments at 6:30 p.m. Greenwich Reform is located at 92 Orchard St. For more information, call 203-629-0018.
