

Maryann G. Yantorno, a lifelong resident of Greenwich passed away peacefully on Sept. 19, 2018 at Greenwich Hospital with her husband and family by her side. She was born June 30, 1942 in Greenwich, CT to the late James and Mary Pizzarello. Maryann attended local schools and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1960. After high school, Maryann embarked on a long career; she began at Fawcett Publications where she rose to Manager of Customer Service. Maryann then became an Executive Director at Lillian Vernon corporation; she completed her professional career as an executive with the Olsten Employment Agency and Summer Rain Sprinkler Systems.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Glen Yantorno, and her brothers Anthony Pizzarello (Victoria) of Naples, Fla. and James J. Pizzarello, Jr. (Theresa) of Greenwich. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews – who she treated like her own children and grandchildren. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Maryann was an exceptional cook and brought joy to so many through her delicious Italian meals. She also loved to travel with her husband annually to Aruba and the coast of Maine. Maryann was a loving and devoted wife, sister, daughter, and aunt, whose happiest moments were spent with family and long-time friends.
Calling hours were Sept. 23. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 24 at Sacred Heart Church, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Maryann’s name to Greenwich Senior Center.
