Heavy rain pelted the region for much of Tuesday, leading to widespread flooding in Connecticut and New York.
The National Weather Service had issued a flash-flood warning earlier in the day for southwestern Fairfield County, which expired at 6:15 p.m. There were reports earlier today that Mallard Drive was impassible due to flooding, and Route 1 was experiencing flooding as well. As of 8:45 p.m., Tuesday, there is no word from Greenwich officials on road closings throughout town. Stay tuned as updates become available.
According to swctweather.com, the heavy rain has moved out of the area.
After 8 PM any showers become light and widely scattered as temperatures overnight remain in the upper 60’s and quickly rise into the 70’s tomorrow morning.
Residents are reminded to avoid flooded areas and possible downed wires or trees.
A reminder to residents, to report something that needs immediate attention like clogged drains causing flooding or trees and wires down, please call the non emergency police number
