On Tuesday, Aug. 7, The Nantucket Project (TNP), in partnership with the Westport-based nonprofit Common Ground Committee (CGC), will be hosting a discussion titled “A Doctor’s Dilemma: Race, Violence and Medicine.”

The discussion will feature CGC President Bruce Bond and Dr. Brian Williams, who performed surgery on the police officers shot during the deadly shooting in Dallas two years ago. Dr. Williams will talk about his experience as a surgeon who works closely with law enforcement, and as a black man who fears for his safety when approached by police.

The program begins at 7 p.m. at The Nantucket Project, 123 Mason St. To register, visit nantucketproject.regfox.com/mason-st-project-brian-williams
