Oct. 2, 1927 – June 19, 2018
Antoinette Virginia Spizzirri, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children.
A Greenwich resident all her life, Toni lived at 280 Davis Ave. in the house which she was born. A devoted wife and mother, Toni’s life centered on her family, friends and her strong Catholic faith.
Toni’s local group of girlfriends — Magoo, Rita, Martha, Millie, Ann and her maid of honor Jennie, affectionately known as “Club 7” — had all been friends since childhood. “Club 7” is now in “Full Session.” With family and friends, many of Toni’s favorite times were spent at Tod’s Point and Island Beach, cooking, crocheting, bowling and playing cards. Toni had attended St. Mary’s Grammar School on Greenwich Avenue and later became a trained hairdresser along with working at the Belle Haven Club for 20 years before retiring.
Toni was pre-deceased by her husband Raymond F. Spizzirri and is survived by her beloved children John M. Spizzirri, Michael Spizzirri, Nancy A. Warren and her husband David Warren. She will be greatly missed by her immediate family, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of friends both at home and abroad.
A funeral mass and Christian burial took place June 22.
