Marlboro’s Final Performance of the Season

On Sunday, April 29 at 4 p.m., the Friends Cole Concert Series presents the final Marlboro performance of the 2017-2018 season, in the Cole Auditorium of the Greenwich Library.

The final program of the season begins with Haydn’s Quartet in D Major, Op. 20, No. 4 followed by Penderecki’s String Trio. Concluding the program is Brahms’s String Quintet in F Major, Op. 88, described by the composer himself in a letter to Clara Schumann as one of his finest works.

Artists include Robin Scott on violin, Tessa Lark on violin, Rebecca Albers on viola, Molly Carr on viola and Marcy Rosen on cello.

Now in its 53rd season, Musicians from Marlboro, the touring extension of the Marlboro Music Festival in Vermont is noted not only for their joyous and thoroughly prepared performances but also for offering valuable touring experience to artists at the beginning of their careers and for featuring programs of unusual as well as beloved chamber repertoire.
