Anne Leslie (Rosser) Paris, 60, of Riverside, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Dec. 25, 2017. Anne was born on April 1, 1957 in Beth Israel Hospital Boston, Mass. to Frances Everets Rosser and Gerald Rosser and spent her childhood in Waban/Newton, Mass.
She spent many happy summers at Camp Rapputak in Fryeburg, Maine. Like many summer camps of that era, lifelong friendships were born and this camp was no exception. Anne remained in touch with some of her camp friends until her death.
Anne graduated from Newton South High School in June 1975 and attended Curry College, where she met her future husband, Peter E. Paris Jr (Chip) of Greenwich. They married in 1981, moved to Greenwich in 1985, and eventually settled in Riverside in 2000.
Anne was a loyal and dedicated community volunteer for several decades before she became ill. She donated countless hours to many charitable organizations including The River House Adult Day Care (GADC), Junior League of Greenwich, The Greenwich Hospital Gift Shop, Old Greenwich Garden Club, and the Head Start preschool at Wilbur Peck Court, among others. She was a former member of The Belle Haven Club and enjoyed playing tennis in her younger years.
One of her greatest loves was for dogs, particularly her Basset Hounds, past and present. Anne understood her dogs and they were devoted to her. Bandit, Cassie, Maggie, Molly, Jenna, and Lucy were like her children and she adored them all.
Anne was predeceased by both her mother and her father. She is survived by her husband Peter of Riverside, her sister-in-law Lynde Karin (Mike) of Rye Beach, N.H. and her sister-in-law Muriel (Muggins) Bagley of Summit, N.J., numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
A remembrance of Anne’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6 at Fred D. Knapp & Son Funeral Home, 267 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The River House Adult Day Center or The PKD Foundation would be appreciated.
