
The Garden Education Center of Greenwich (GEC) announces the “Greenwich Dahlia Society’s 10th Annual Dahlia Show” beginning Saturday, Oct. 7. All dahlias will be sold on the final day of the show, giving the public a rare opportunity to purchase prize-winning blooms.
The show will be open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale of blooms takes place Sunday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. Entries will be accepted Friday, Oct. 6 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 7 from 7 to 11 a.m.; judging begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Those interested in entering their homegrown blooms can find the complete program schedule on the Garden Education Center’s website, at GECGreenwich.org. Novices are encouraged to participate and enter the ‘Novice Category’. It is important to note that only named varieties will be accepted and must have at least two leaves. Volunteers will be on-hand to help stage your blooms.
