Arthur Koellmer

Arthur Koellmer passed away on July 16 in Greenwich. He was 68 years old.

Arthur was born on Aug. 20, 1948 to John N. and Marie (Fink) Koellmer in Greenwich. He was a lifelong town resident and a graduate of Greenwich High School. He served in the U.S. Army Security Agency.

On May 27, 1972, Arthur married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Hobby, in Bad Aibling, Germany, while serving in the Army.

Arthur was employed by AT&T for over 30 years before retiring in 2000. He went on to work for White Contractors as a technician for another 10 years. Arthur loved model trains, he loved fixing and repairing anything, and he loved electronics. Arthur was a master of all trades.

Above all else, Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His sense of humor and his kindness will be missed by all. Arthur is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret, and his sons, Michael John (Stacey) and Arthur, Jr. (Cari). He is the loving grandfather of Kristin, Aidan, and Kyle, and beloved brother of Philip.

He was predeceased by his brothers Richard and John, Jr.

Visitation was held on Wednesday at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich. A Mass was held yesterday morning at St. Mary Church, and burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery, 399 North St., Greenwich.
