More than 100 guests attended the Open House for the new Nathaniel Witherell Friendship Garden May 20, enjoying the beautiful views, light refreshments, and music by the Maria Tiscia Trio. Located in the heart of Nathaniel Witherell’s campus, the Friendship Garden was specifically designed to enhance residents’ sensory perception by including over 600 trees, shrubs, and plants that change with the seasons and stimulate the senses. Dogwoods, laurels, azaleas, and rhododendrons are all currently in bloom. The garden also features benches, wandering paths, and a fountain, plus a new outdoor deck and furnishings have been installed. A special thanks to our major garden contributors: Hortulus, The Woman’s Club of Greenwich, Cummin Associates, Summer Rain Sprinkler Systems, and the Greenwich Tree Conservancy.
