On Wednesday, May 17, A Cure in Our Lifetime (CIOL) will be hosting its 20th Spring Benefit featuring Emmy-award winner and breast cancer survivor, Sandra Lee.

When a member of the CIOL community lost her life to breast cancer 20 years ago, leaving behind her husband and two young children, a group of her friends formed a committee dedicated to raising funds to support innovative breast cancer research and to promote breast health. Since its inception, CIOL has raised more than $3 million for breast cancer research. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF – bcrfcure.org) is the principal beneficiary of the event.

The event will take place at 9:30 a.m., at the Tamarack Country Club, 55 Locust Rd.

About A Cure in Our Lifetime:
Twenty years ago, a member of our community lost her life to breast cancer leaving behind her husband, and two very young children. A group of her friends, grieving from the loss, decided to form a committee of women, who were dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research forming A Cure in Our Lifetime. CIOL has expanded over the past two decades to include and embrace many generations of women committed to finding a cure for a disease that affects our friends, sisters, mothers, and others close to our hearts. We are extremely proud and appreciative of our community’s efforts and support. Since 1998, we have raised over $3,000,000 in the fight against Breast Cancer. Our organization’s mission is to fund innovative breast cancer research and to promote breast health through education and outreach.
