A new supporter joins the Breast Cancer Alliance (BCA) in its mission to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer.
Kevin Sneddon – CEO and Broker of Private Client Realty, a luxury residential brokerage and consulting firm specializing in properties in Greenwich, the Hamptons, Manhattan, and Anguilla – has generously offered to donate 25% of all commission income earned from transactions brokered on behalf of BCA supporters to the organization. This includes homes purchased or sold by Breast Cancer Alliance contributors as well as those transacted on behalf of clients referred to Sneddon by a BCA supporter.
The Greenwich resident first learned of BCA through a family friend and breast cancer survivor who modeled in the organization’s annual benefit luncheon and fashion show.
“Everybody knows somebody who has had breast cancer,” Sneddon said. “Its impact on people’s lives can be horrible and I’m happy to do what I can to help eradicate it. This is a way to contribute something positive for the greater good. I think it could have an impact.”
The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 252,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer and over 63,000 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year alone.
“We are honored to have Kevin Sneddon as a new fundraising partner for Breast Cancer Alliance. His philanthropic approach is one that will help improve the impact of our work,” said BCA Executive Director, Yonni Wattenmaker.
Founded in 1996 by breast cancer survivors and their friends, Breast Cancer Alliance is one of the largest private, non-corporate breast cancer organizations in the United States. Since its inception, the organization has awarded more than $22 million in grants, supporting its mission to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer through better prevention, early detection, treatment and cure. Breast Cancer Alliance invests in innovative research, breast surgery fellowships, regional education, dignified support, and screening for the underserved. Over its nearly two-decade history, the Alliance has funded cutting-edge research and one-year postgraduate breast surgery fellowships at more than 25 of the nation’s leading research institutions.
