The Town of Greenwich is preparing for another round of wintry weather heading its way Sunday.
With already several inches of snow on the ground from the previous weather event, Sunday is looking to be a messy one for people that are traveling, as the possibility exists for snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of freezing rain and sleet from around 5 a.m. until noon. Between noon and 4 p.m., there could rain mixing with sleet because it turns to rain around 4 p.m.
During the nighttime hours, there will be rain, snow and sleet likely until 11 p.m., with a chance of rain and snow between 11 p.m. and midnight and then snow after midnight. The snow should taper off during the overnight hours.
Throughout Sunday temperatures will start below freezing and slowly rise throughout the day to a high of 36 degrees. Then Sunday night the temperature will still be above freezing, falling only one degree from the high earlier in the day.
While Sunday will be a high of 36, it will feel much colder, as winds nine to 15 miles per hour during the day will make it feel like 20 to 25 degrees.
Because of this unsettled weather, and the possibility of snow, sleet and freezing rain, the NWS has issued a winter weather advisory for Sunday between the hours of 2 a.m. and noon.
Obviously with weather like this, roads and sidewalks could become slippery and unsafe, so use caution if you have to go outside.
