Director of the Jazz Studies Program at NYU, Dr. David Schroeder will perform with Combo Nuvo trio, an international ensemble of professional musicians on Sunday, Feb. 12 at Greenwich Arts Council (GAC), in the Meeting Room.

The group has travelled widely throughout the world, playing recently with the Mongolian National Symphony. They perform regularly at the Blue Note in Manhattan. The program of jazz, world and improvised music is designed to create a “music landscape” which derives from the current exhibition in the Bendheim Gallery “Urban Landscape,” curated by prominent artist and art historian Ellen Colcord, which explores the experience of living in NYC as interpreted by eight very different artists.

This rich blend of acoustic guitar, percussion, bass flute, and soprano saxophone will be joined with Schroeder playing the unique Mongolian Ever Buree instrument whose sound is seldom heard in western music.

Ellen Colcord and David Schroeder will be available after the 3 p.m. concert to talk with the audience about both the exhibition, which includes painting, sculpture, mixed media and video installations, and the musical program.

Concert is free, but reservations are required; and seating is limited and on a first come basis. Please RSVP at gallery@greenwicharts.org. The Greenwich Arts Council is located at 299 Greenwich Ave. For more information call 203-862-6754 or go to greenwichartscouncil.org.
