It is Spring and that means Girl Scout cookies! Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich received a magnificent donation of boxes of Girl Scout cookies for our clients, donated by the head golf professional, Andy Richardson, PGA, at The Milbrook Club, with the support of various members of the Club including Cookie and Dave Larusso. Meals-on-Wheels is so fortunate to have caring partners in the community who help to make our clients feel special.

Did you know that The Girls Scout Cookie Program is more than 100 years old and includes thousands of girls and adults participating each Spring? Money raised by the sale of cookies helps support Girl Scout troops, develop new programs, and maintain camp properties. Girl Scout cookies are loved by so many because they are delicious, they are tied to memories of nostalgia and tradition, and the money raised supports a great cause. The cookies were first baked by the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1917 and sold in the local high school cafeteria. The idea caught on and in 1936, Girl Scout cookies became a nationwide program.
