
The Greenwich Stars AAU basketball team is aiming to win the National Championship for the second time in three seasons.
The 2017 Greenwich Stars spring AAU basketball tryouts will be held on Jan. 24 to Jan. 25 at Carmel Academy.
The Free Tryouts are for boys and girls ages eight- through 16-years-old. The tryout schedule is available at: www.GreenwichStars.com Play is March through June and there will be two to three teams per age and players are welcome from all towns. Scholarships are available.
The Greenwich Stars are one of the largest youth basketball organizations in the Northeast. The Greenwich Stars won the Zero Gravity National Championship in Boston. They have also won an amazing 38 major spring ournaments.
“The Greenwich Stars growth has been phenomenal,” said President and General Manager John Raybin. “Five years ago, we began with nine basketball players and in 2016, over 1,550 boys and girls from 36 towns in New York and Connecticut played basketball with us. Families and players want to be a part of the Greenwich Stars because of our great organization and our outstanding professional coaches.”
The Greenwich Stars have AAU teams and travel teams and programs for every type of player. In total, 39 percent of the players receive scholarships and coaches volunteer their time in schools and communities.
“We mentor kids and we want to make a positive difference in players’ lives on and off the basketball court. We have professional coaches and no parent coaches. Everything we do is to help our players and families.” Raybin said.
The Greenwich Stars Basketball Organization is based in Greenwich, Connecticut and is for boys and girls ages three through 16. Players are welcome from all towns. Basketball programming is available 12 months a year for all levels of play including spring AAU teams, fall and winter travel basketball teams and leagues, clinics, private training and summer camp.
