Haitian Art Sale to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts

haitian-art-sale

The Second Congregational Church of Greenwich is partnering with the Vassar Haiti Project to present a weekend sale, Nov. 18 to 20, to celebrate Haitian art and culture and to raise funds for Hurricane Matthew relief efforts and ongoing projects in Haiti. The sale will offer over 200 original Haitian paintings and unique handcrafts accompanied by authentic kompa music.

For 15 years, the Vassar Haiti Project has partnered with a rural, mountainous village in Haiti called Chermaitre through five initiatives – education, medicine, a women’s co-operative, reforestation, and water purification and access.

The art sale takes place at the church, 139 E. Putnam Ave., Friday, Nov. 18 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. (Opening Reception), Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. All sales are 50% tax deductible. For more information about the event, please visit 2cc.org or call 845-797-2123.
