‘Cocktails & Comedy’ to benefit N2N’s Undies Project

The Undies Project at Neighbor to Neighbor will hold its inaugural fund-raiser, Cocktails & Comedy, featuring local comédienne Jane Condon on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 7 to 10 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church’s Fellowship Hall, 1 West Putnam Ave.

Lucy Langley & Laura Delaflor originated The Undies Project at Neighbor to Neighbor in 2015 after recognizing that underwear is the most under donated, and most needed, item of clothing. No one should be deprived of the simple daily necessity of clean underwear that many of us take for granted. Hygiene and physical comfort are only a part of this basic human need. It also provides dignity and self-esteem. The mission of The Undies Project is to provide new, unused underwear to those in need to improve their lives.

Cocktails & Comedy promises to be a fun filled evening of laughter. Jane Condon is excited to be a part of The Undies Project fundraiser. She is a long time Greenwich resident and mom of two boys. She was named one of 10 Comedy Best Bets in Back Stage’s annual comedy issue.

Acclaimed chef Debra Ponzek, owner of Aux Délices, is generously donating hors d’oeuvres and desserts for the occasion. She has also designed a signature martini especially for the event. The first drink is complimentary, included in the ticket price, and there will also be a cash bar.

Bernie Weiss, of Bernie Weiss Photos, will be on hand to take red carpet pictures of guests. Brian Jarvis, of SCORE Fairfield County, will be the MC for the evening. There will be live music during the cocktail hour by classical pianist Douglas Kurz, and a silent auction with an array of items thanks to the support of many businesses and Friends of The Undies Project who are sponsoring the event.

All funds raised at Cocktails & Comedy will directly support The Undies Project at Neighbor to Neighbor and be used to purchase specific items for families in need. Neighbor to Neighbor is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving Greenwich area residents in need by providing for the exchange of food, clothing and basic living essentials.
