The Bruce Museum will offer cool adventures on hot days for children ages six to12 years old. From Tuesday, Aug. 2, through Thursday, Aug. 4, 1 to 4 p.m., children can enjoy a fun-filled exploration of the Museum’s current exhibitions and hands-on activities.

On Tuesday, Aug. 2, the theme will be “Art of Nature,” inspired by the exhibition “Flora and Fauna: Drawings by Francesca Anderson.” Activities will include styrofoam scratchboard printing, nature journaling, and natural object collaging. On Wednesday, Aug. 3, children can spend the afternoon exploring simple physics concepts through fun, hands-on experiments that zoom, soar and crash. Activities inspired by photographs from the museum’s “Science and Motion” exhibition will include paper airplane making and gravity-powered rollercoasters. The topic on Thursday, Aug. 4, is “Color Day – Prepare to Get Messy!” Color mixing and painting activities include tie-dying, splatter painting and color combat.

Registration is online by July 28 at eventbrite.com/o/bruce-museum-2044289553. Each afternoon session costs $60 for non-members, $45 for Museum members. Participants who sign up for all three days will receive a special reward from The Bruce Museum Store.

The Bruce Museum is located at 1 Museum Drive. For more information, contact Manager of Youth and Family Programs Laura Stricker at 203-413-6740.
