Flag Raising, Vigil to be Held in Honor of Orlando Tragedy

Greenwich-Town-Hall-FI

A flag raising event and a prayer vigil will be held tonight in Greenwich to honor the lives lost on Sunday morning in Orlando, FL — which is now being categorized as the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

The raising of the LGBT flag will be held in front of Town Hall (101 Field Point Rd.) at 6:15 p.m., led by a brief prayer from the clergy. Elected officials along with Greenwich High School LGBT youth will be in attendance for the event, which is open to all.

A joint-prayer vigil will be held at First Congregational Church (108 Sound Beach Ave.) at approximately 7 p.m., as the First and Second Congregational Church invites the community to come together and join in silence, song and prayer for the 50 people and others injured inside a night club in downtown Orlando.
