

Greenwich Choral Society announced the recipient of the 2016 Natalie Rutherford Scholarship Award; Madeleine Snow, a senior at Horace Greeley High School, Chappaqua, N.Y.
Madeleine is a soprano who has had extensive experience in choral singing in choirs at Horace Greeley High School, in the Area All-State Women’s and Mixed Choruses, with the Tanglewood Music Center and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Vocal Program and Chorus. She was a First Round Finalist in both High School Classical and Musical Theatre categories in the Classical Singer Vocal Competition in Chicago, Ill., and was the recipient of the Junior Awards from the New York State School Music Association and the National Association for Music Education.
Madeleine will attend Harvard University in the fall with a concentration on musicology and performance. She will continue her active involvement in choral music with the Holden Chorus at Harvard as well as the Lowell House Opera and the Harvard College Opera. She plans to continue her education by pursuing a Master of Music degree in Opera Performance.
The Greenwich Choral Society sponsors the competition for the annual Nathalie Rutherford Scholarship Award of $1,000. Any senior attending school in Fairfield or Westchester County who intends to pursue further study in vocal or choral music is encouraged to apply.
