Police Seek Tips in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Hillside Rd.

On Sunday night, April 17, at about 11:00 p.m., a 43 year old Greenwich man was struck and killed by a hit and run driver on East Putnam Avenue by Hillside Road.

A 43-year-old man was struck and killed a by a hit-and-run driver on East Putnam Avenue by Hillside Road Sunday, April 17 at approximately 11:00 p.m.

Evidence at the scene has identified the suspect vehicle as a 2006 or later Mercedes-Benz M-Class with a (damaged) silver honeycomb grill with the Mercedes-Benz logo in the center of it. The damage to the grill is to the right side. At this time, police say the color of the vehicle is still unknown.

The man’s identity is being withheld at this time pending notification of his family.

Investigators from the Fatal Accident Reconstruction Team are following up all leads. Anyone with any information is asked to call lead investigator, Officer Roger Drenth at (203) 622-8014.
