
In ideal outdoor conditions Saturday, the Brunswick School tennis team swept Kent in a non-league match, 7-0, on the Richman Tennis Courts.
With the win, the 3-0 Bruins won all six singles matches and secured the doubles point for the shut-out win.
In doubles action, the No. 1 duo of Ben Powis and Ryan Glanville dispatched their opponents, 8-2. Conner Wakeman and Tyler Carney won their set at No. 2 by a similar margin, earning the Bruins the team point.
With those two wins in hand, Brunswick secured the doubles point, despite the setback at No. 3, as Greyson Wall and Hayden Hoover fell 8-5.
Following doubles action, the Bruins moved quickly to cap the team victory. Ben Powis won convincingly at No. 1 (6-1, 6-0), after dropping the first game, as Carney earned a similar score, in his win at No. 4.
Johnny Rose won his match at No. 2 (6-3, 6-1), while Wakeman (No. 3 singles) and Clark Davis (No. 6 singles) won their matches by identical 6-2, 6-2 scores.
Boden Polikoff needed three sets to defeat his Kent counterpart (4-6, 6-4, 13-11), to finish the sweep. The third set was played as a super-tiebreaker, as Polikoff won the final two points for the 13-11 win.
