
Trailing 3-1 in the first quarter to Loomis Chaffee, Brunswick went on a 16-1 run to close out the contest, en route to a decisive 19-4 win in New England West 1 action at Cosby Field on Saturday.
Junior Alex Buckanavage had a terrific nine-point performance with six goals and three assists to pace the Bruins (4-1, 3-0).
After tying the game at 3-3 on a Reilly Walsh goal to cap the first quarter, Brunswick blew the game open with a 9-1 burst in the second quarter, as Buckanavage had a hand in the final seven goals of the quarter, including the last tally with under one minute to play, for a 12-4 lead at intermission.
Buckanavage capped his scoring to open the third quarter with his final goal, as the Bruins added six more tallies down the stretch for the decisive 19-4 win over the Pelicans (1-4, 0-2).
Brunswick returns to action on Wednesday, as the Bruins travel to Taft (5-0, 0-0) for a key conference match-up.
