The Greenwich Arts Council will hold the International Miniature Print Exhibition at the Bendheim Gallery from April 14 to May 19.
A collaboration with the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, the exhibition is an artists’ competition which called for entries from around the world. The signature requirement was that each print had to measure no more than four square inches. Any hand printmaking method was accepted, and artists often used a combination of methods to produce compelling works. Over 700 entries from more than 30 countries were received this year as part of the competition.
The resulting exhibition of 200 plus prints unfolds a wondrous variety of techniques, styles and subjects. They describe little worlds, and concepts from the simple to the complex, showing how artists from very different cultures interpret the miniature format in their artwork.
The Greenwich Arts Council is located at 299 Greenwich Avenue. Admission is free. Gallery hours are: Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday to Sunday 12 to 4 p.m. Building is handicapped accessible. For more information call 203-862-6750, or visit greenwichartscouncil.org
