On April 16 and 17, virtuoso pianist Juho Pohjonen will join the Greenwich Symphony in performing Mozart’s masterful Piano Concerto No. 27. One of the brightest young instrumental artists to emerge from Finland, Mr. Pohjonen has attracted great attention as one of the Nordic country’s most intriguing and talented pianists. Widely praised for his broad range of repertoire from Bach to Salonen, his interpretations are known for their intensity, thoughtfulness and fearless musical conviction. Also on the program will be Respighi’s Pines of Rome, Symphony No. 7 of Roy Harris and Zabinski’s Notturno.
The concerts will take place Saturday, April 16 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 17 at 4 p.m. at the new Performing Arts Center at Greenwich High School. A free, pre-concert lecture will be given one hour before each performance. Tickets are $35 for adults, $10 for students. For tickets and information, call 203-869-2664 or see greenwichsymphony.org.
