
Greenwich High School PTA in partnership with ONSF (ONS Foundation for Clinical Research & Education, Inc.) will host a panel discussion entitled “Concussion – Get the Facts: Best Practice Medical Plan and Academic Strategies” on Wednesday, March 9. The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Media Center of Greenwich High School and will feature staff and students of Greenwich High along with ONSF concussion experts. Panelists will share the facts, bust the myths and empower parents and students with tools to navigate recovery from time of injury to return to play and school.
Panel members will include ONSF President and Sports Medicine Specialist Paul Sethi, MD, Pediatric Neuropsychologist and Brain Injury and Sports Concussion Management Specialist Tricia McDonough Ryan, PhD; Greenwich High School Athletic Trainer Peter Falla, ATC/L; Greenwich High School Nurse Mary Ann O’Connor, RN and Coordinator 6-12 Guidance Services, Greenwich Public Schools Judith Nedell.
Attendees will learn: Best practice medical interventions; how the family system can change an outcome; best practice process for returning to learn; what academic support to expect; how returning to athletics, job, driving and after school activities should be managed.
