Obituary: Edward P. Gunnip

Edward P. Gunnip, 89, passed away at Greenwich Woods on Jan. 13.

He was born on Aug. 5, 1926 to Edward Joseph Gunnip and Catherine Wilson Gunnip in Stamford. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Second World War, and worked for Electrolux and Town and Country Apartments before his retirement in 1992.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 672 in Brewster, N.Y., and the 9th District Veterans in Glenville. Ed was an avid Mets, Jets, and Rangers fan, and enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun.

He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Angelina Santora Gunnip, his son Edward Joseph Gunnip, and many other relatives.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Gunnip Ferris, his son Christopher Gunnip, and his grandchildren, Ryan and Courtney Ferris.

He was waked by Castiglione’s and was entombed at Saint Mary Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.castiglionefh.com.
