The first-ever Greenwich vs. Darien fundraising competition has ended in a virtual tie. With Greenwich raising $245,472.00 and Darien, $245,543.00 the campaign surprised and surpassed the goals of both Libraries’.

“Our goal was to raise awareness that the Library depends on the support of donors to provide the extraordinary services and programs enjoyed by our entire community,” stated Haley Elmlinger, President of Greenwich Library Board of Trustees. “We thoroughly enjoyed this fundraising competition with our neighbors to the east and could not be more pleased by our shared success. It was truly a win-win!”

The month-long contest launched on Tuesday, Dec. 1, #GivingTuesday, concluded on Dec. 31.

The Town of Greenwich funds the library’s annual operating budget. The funds raised during the month-long Book Bowl are part of the Annual Appeal, which concludes on June 30.
