Daniel McGee, a longtime resident of Greenwich, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 68 years old.

Dan was born in Brooklyn on June 30, 1947 to John and Marion (Sherrock) McGee. He was a devoted, kind, caring, and giving husband, father, grandfather and friend; he will be remembered for his gentle heart and strong convictions.

Dan was the successful proprietor and president of Mydyer Textiles.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Pollock), his children, Janice McGee, Kevin Daniel (and his wife, Tammy) McGee, and Lynn Castagna (and her husband, Giuseppe). He was the proud grandfather of Alexander Daniel McGee, Daniela Castagna, and Madison, Justin, Reid and Brody McGee. He was the proud step-grandfather to Silvia, Gemma and Cristina Castagna.

Dan is also survived by his sisters, Alice Frolio and Marion Gluss; he was predeceased by his brother, Terrence McGee. Friends honored his life yesterday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, and a funeral Mass is scheduled for today—Friday, Dec. 4—at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 469 North St., in Greenwich.
