The Brunswick School water polo team hosted New England Prep School League foe Hopkins School Wednesday afternoon and came away with the 13-3 victory.

After rather sluggish first half that closed with Brunswick ahead 5-3, there were some words of encouragement from coaches Ulmis Iordache and Eric Tillman.

Tri-captain Pat Stefanou took those words to heart and opened the second half with four straight goals to give him a game-high six goals on the day. Simon Derby and Will Marvin added a goal apiece en route to a 6-0 run to conclude the third quarter.

Will Marvin and Tim Saunders added goals in the fourth as Brunswick cruised to a 13-3 victory. In net, Charlie Pang finished with nine saves, while Christian Hartch came in and added two saves.

With the victory, Brunswick upped its overall record to 17-5 and 9-1 in the league. Saturday the Bruins finish its league schedule with games against Choate Rosemary Hall and Suffield Academy in Wallingford.
