

Joseph Francis Tyminski died on Oct. 1 after a long illness. He was 77 years old.
He was a native of Greenwich and attended Greenwich schools. He served in the U.S. Army and then worked for D’Elia Honda for many years as manager of the parts department, and then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service.
He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Shirley Davis Tyminski, children Cindy Timinski, Terri Tyminski, Joseph Tyminski and Laura Baker; grandchildren Matthew and Daniel Gazaille, Reef and Rainey Baker, and Jenna Tyminski.
He also leaves behind many dear friends, many of whom were a great help to him during his illness. The family especially wishes to thank the wonderful nurses, respiratory therapists and staff at Greenwich Hospital for their superb care, and most importantly Dr. Stuart McCalley for his valiant effort and nurturing care.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Mary’s Church in Greenwich on Oct. 5, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joe’s name may be made to the American Lung Association by visiting http://action.lung.org/goto/Joe_Tyminski.
