Activities supporting wellness and healthy snacks will be provided. Visitors will be able to take a free mental health screening, discuss the results with a clinician, and get a referral to treatment if needed.
The events will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Greenwich Hospital from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. by appointment, as well as at Greenwich Town Hall from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

These free events are designed to raise awareness of mental health as a part of overall wellness and to promote getting an annual mental health checkup as a preventive measure, according to the Southwest Regional Mental Health Board (SWRMHB), organizer of this county-wide initiative. Collaborating with Southwest Regional Mental Health Board in Greenwich are local partners Greenwich Department of Social Services, Greenwich Hospital, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness – Southwest CT chapter. This effort is supported financially by Purdue Pharma, LP and CT Health Foundation. Screenings in English and Spanish are also available online at www.HealthyMindsCT.org. Visitors to the site can take a self-assessment for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, alcohol use, or eating disorders. Parents can use an online tool to screen for depression in their teenager.
