The Greenwich High School MISA Performing Arts Center will make its ceremonial debut on Wednesday, Oct. 7 when Greenwich resident Rob Mathes performS a brand new song titled “Can You Hear Me??” accompanied by more than 300 children at the concert.

Just last week, Mathes directed the Papal Concert before his Mass at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

His return to Greenwich marks the ribbon cutting of the new Music Instructional Space & Auditorium Performing Arts Center after a lengthy campaign to construct the building and music wing for GHS.

Mathes was enlisted to speak at RTM and Town Hall meetings on behalf of the group advocating for the new addition to the high school, and he says the rest is history.

The 40,000 sq. foot auditorium building seats 1,325 and recently received its Certificate of Occupancy.

The Greenwich singer, composer and music director co-produced the previous three albums for Sting and has also worked with artists like Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Elton John and many more.
