The Fairfield County Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, CT. Registration for the annual event, sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, continues to break records and currently counts 200 teams and 887 walkers who have raised $163,000 to date. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to register for free online or via phone 860.828.2828 and help reclaim the future for millions. Event donations will be accepted through December 15, 2015 and can also be made online at alz.org/ct.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s will feature live music, children’s activities, a Zumba warm-up prior to the three-mile scenic walk and a meaningful tribute ceremony. Greenwich resident and Emmy-Award-Winning TV News Reporter Kendra Farn will be the emcee for the event. Kendra is a Champion in the inaugural Fight to End Alzheimer’s Women’s Campaign that launched in July.
“I lost my mother to Alzheimer’s disease far too early. She was diagnosed when she was just 60 years old. Whatever I can do to raise awareness and fight this disease for my daughters and generations to come, I will do,” offers Kendra.
