RowAmerica is opening its newest location, RowAmerica Greenwich, located at 89 River Road on the Mianus River, and will host an Open House this Saturday, Sept. 26, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The public is invited to attend an Open House on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., where people can meet the coaching staff and have a chance to view and try out their state-of-the-art equipment.

Staff will be on hand to explain the RowAmerica Greenwich programming schedule and assist in finding the right program fit for each registrant.

“We have recruited world-class coaching and provided top equipment to deliver the best possible service for this new location”, says Howard Winklevoss, founder of RowAmerica. “We are excited to bring competitive rowing to Greenwich. Our goal is simple – to be the best rowing club in the country and bring a National-level trophy home within our first five years.”

Founded in 2003, RowAmerica’s vision is to support, promote and expand the sport of rowing. With the ability to provide equipment, staff and facilities needed to deliver top-quality programming and events, RowAmerica is setting the standard in athlete and coach development, safety and administration through their RowAmerica Boat Clubs subsidiary.

RowAmerica also manufactures, distributes and provides boats for sale and lease under the Wintech Racing and King Racing brands, and the corporate headquarters in Bridgeport houses a state-of-the-art repair facility, servicing all makes and models of boats.

“The sport of rowing offers the most lucrative opportunities for collegiate scholarships, but athletes must be adequately prepared to meet the challenge of athletics at the highly competitive NCAA level,” said Dave Dickison, president of RowAmerica Boat Clubs. “RowAmerica has had great success in transforming youth and enabling them to realize their true potential as athletes, and our new coaching staff at RowAmerica Greenwich embraces this challenge wholeheartedly.”

RowAmerica Greenwich is its seventh club in operation in the United States. Plans to create a full-service boathouse are in the works. Programming will continue throughout all phases of construction. For more information, visit Rowamericagreenwich.com.
