Greenwich Community Gardens will host a Fall Garden Workshop & Class geared to the “cool weather garden.” Organic Gardening Expert, Alan Gorkin will lead the informative and interactive class on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the Armstrong Community Garden, Armstrong Court off Hamilton Avenue.

Summer may be the high season in the garden but fall also brings wonderful rewards. This practical class will address planning and planting a fall garden for a succession of greens and vegetables that can be enjoyed into late fall and early winter. Cool weather greens include spinach, mache, beet greens, some lettuces, arugula and Asian greens.

Attendees will also enjoy a walk through the garden for an informal Q&A and get advice on addressing the needs of Community Gardens in real time.

The class fee is a suggested donation of $15 (proceeds support Greenwich Community Gardens). Space is limited. RSVP by Sept. 11,  to: info@reenwichcommunitygardens.org. The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 13, from 10 to 11:15 a.m.
