Those looking to squeeze in some beach time before the cold weather hits, listen up! Greenwich beaches will no longer have lifeguards on duty for the remainder of the season.

Usually, the beaches are staffed with lifeguards from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but the Parks and Rec Department says not this year.

The lifeguard shortage means beach-goers should swim at their own risk and comply with all posted signs, according to Parks and Rec officials.

Park and beach passes are still required at town facilities such as Greenwich Point, Byram beach, and Island Beach until October 31.
