Riverside Yacht Club hosted over 150 sailors in the 2015 Optimist Championships of the Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound.
“We raced Optis. It’s a type of boat made for small sailors,” said 10 year old Benjamin Sheppard.
“Almost every club that has a Juniors program was represented here,” said Gregg Clark, the Chair of the event.
Greenwich clubs like Belle Haven and Indian Harbor sent sailors to the competition for kids ages 15 and under. Riverside officials say they are proud to host this regatta.
“We are a sailing club, and we have an amazing Junior program,” said Clark.
