GPD Now Accepting Applications for Citizens Police Academy

Have you ever wanted to experience first hand how a police officer does his or her job? Well now you can- the Greenwich Police Department is accepting applications for the 2015 Citizen’s Police Academy Fall Session.

The six week program begins on Monday, September 21 and will meet twice a week from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Graduation will be held on Wednesday, November 4 at the Greenwich Police Department.

Participants will get to ride in a police cruiser and in the police boat. They will also be instructed on topics such as 911 awareness, use of force, scams and fraud, crime scene/forensics, and new this year – after the arrest.

Those interested in participating must fill out an application and send it, along with a copy of your drivers license, to The Community Impact Section, Greenwich Police Dept., 11 Bruce Place, Greenwich, CT 06830 or email it to pstreet@greenwichct.org by Thursday, September 17.
