Greenwich Hospital has received the Healthgrades 2015 Outstanding Patient Experience Award, distinguishing it as one of the top hospitals in the country for patient experience.
Healthgrades is a leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals. In order to determine the recipients of this award, the company evaluated patient surveys submitted by 3575 hospitals from all over the United States. Admissions were accepted between the months of January 2013 and December 2013.
Performance evaluation of the surveys was based on 10 patient experience measures, ranging from cleanliness and noise levels to more technical categories such as pain management and staff responsiveness. Each hospital also had to meet an array of other eligibility requirements, including clinical performance thresholds.
“We are thrilled with this award, which is further confirmation of what we already know – Greenwich Hospital provides an amazing patient experience and is very much in tune with what our patients need and want,” said Norman G. Roth, president of Greenwich Hospital. “We have a very long tradition of excellence in the patient experience and this award, which is based upon patient’s input, shows that by paying critical attention to feedback from patients we are succeeding.”
The Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award is an elite honor given to the top 5% of hospitals in this area of achievement nationwide. Greenwich Hospital is the only hospital in Connecticut to receive the award this year.
