The Arch Street Teen Center will be holding a free, community concert
on Friday night, and we got to go inside during sound check for a sneak
peek.
This concert also features the work of local young artists. Teens from
both Fairfield and Westchester counties shave been submitting original
songs to a contest, and Jones picked her favorite four.
“She called everyone personally and asked how I had written my song and
that she really liked it. It was really cool, said Evelyn Sload, an
eighth grader form Darien.
“We all submitted original songs that we wrote and she liked them,” said
Julia Hava of Greenwich High School.
The grand prize winner is Julia McGonagle and she will perform an onstage
duet with Jones on Friday.
“we might be doing “Yellow”, but we might do “All of Me’ by John
Legend,” said McGonagle.
McGonagle will also be featured as guest performer on Jones’ monthly
Sirius XM radio show “Art and Soul”.
