Hundreds of runners spent their Memorial Day morning running
through the streets of downtown for the 51st annual Jim Fixx
run.

“It is a five mile run and a half mile run for the kids at
the track,” said Sue Snyder of the Greenwich Parks and Recreation
Department.

The run is named after Jim Fixx who was a Greenwich resident
and loved running.

“He was an overweight smoker who began running to lose weight.
He ended up being one of the founders of the running boom,”
said Snyder.

This run is part of the Greenwich Cup. For more information
