Greenwich Fire officials are investigating the cause of an
early morning fire at this apartment building behind me on
River Road.
Police and Engine 2 arrived on scene and quickly put out
the fire on the second floor in a closet area. Officials
say no one was home in the apartment at the time, but they
did evacuate the apartments next door and no one was injured.
This is the second fire in 24 hours for the department- Engine
5 responded to a kitchen fire in Old Greenwich earlier on Thursday.
