James Fratello

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Paul Fratello of Harrison, New York on April 17, 2022, at the age of 92. A resident of Harrison, James was born in Greenwich, CT on March 24,1930 to Mercurio and Josephine (Finocchio) Fratello.

James attended Greenwich schools and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1949. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison. James was employed for many years as a truck driver for Homestead Lumber, Inc. in Stamford, CT. Years later, he was self-employed in two businesses, Riverside Refuse Service, and for many years, Jim’s Delivery Service in Port Chester, N.Y.

He was predeceased by his wife Ida (Tauro) Fratello, whom he married in 1953. Devoted father of Steven (Karen) Fratello, Melanie (John) Cocomazzi, and Marlene (Michael) DiFabio. Cherished brother of Joseph (Veda) Fratello and Michael Fratello, Jr., both of Greenwich. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Stephen, John (Maria), Austin, and Evan.

James will be remembered for his great sense of humor and practical jokes. He loved working in the yard, planting his flowers, and decorating his famous “Christmas Village” during the Christmas holiday. But his true passion was antique cars and trucks and he was the proud owner of a 1931 Ford Model A Coupe.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00am Friday, May 20th at St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison, NY, inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY. For more information or to place an online condolence; www.coxeandgraziano.com
