Re-Opening of St. Pauls Sanctuary this Sunday, May 9

unnamed-10-2

Dear people of St. Paul’s,

We write to share with you the news that the sanctuary will re-open for in person worship beginning this Sunday, May 9 for the 8:30AM service since Greenwich has moved into the orange zone for COVID cases, as tracked by the State Department of Health.

Additionally, in a recent communication from the bishop he advises that if we hold inside worship, we should adhere to COVID protocols for social distancing and mask wearing. We will also make sure that the windows are open for proper ventilation. At least for the short term, registration will be required for inside worship. Here is the Eventbrite link for this Sunday:

We will continue to stream the 8:30AM service for those who prefer to stay home. For the rest of May, the 10:30 service will continue in the Meadow. For those worshipping in the Meadow, we ask that you keep your masks on while moving in the Meadow but feel free to take them off when seated.

Beginning June 6 and through the end of September, we will return to our normal worship times. The 8AM service will be Rite 1 in person in the sanctuary and also streamed. The 10:15 service will also be in the sanctuary on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. On the first and the third Sunday of the month, we will offer worship in the Meadow (weather permitting.) Sunday School will continue, as much as possible outside, or in Selleck Hall.

Many people have shared their great joy in worshipping in the Meadow, while many of you have expressed a longing to be in the sanctuary. We believe that this plan will allow people to safely and faithfully gather to worship God together in ways that nourish and sustain.

We understand that this past year has been a great strain on each and every one of you. At the same time, our ability to take advantage of the beauty of the Meadow and the gift of technology has kept us connected in ways that we may never have imagined. For all this, we thank God.

Please be in touch with comments or suggestions and keep an eye out for further details.

With Easter joy,

Stephanie Johnson, Rector

Holden Sibley, Senior Warden
