Supermarketing-for-SeniorsJewish Family Services of Greenwich’s (JFS) Second Annual “Supermarketing for Seniors Celebrates Grandparents” event held Sept. 25 was a huge success. In partnership with neighborhood supermarkets, including Acme Markets, Kings Food Market, Stop & Shop, Garelick and Herbs, Upper Crust Bagel Company, and Balducci’s Food Lovers Market, as well as with The Senior Center of Greenwich, JFS Board members, volunteers, and the JCC Teen Action Committee were stationed across the community raising awareness and funding for the Supermarketing for Seniors (SFS) program, a non-discriminatory, free grocery shopping and case management service designed to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of housebound Greenwich citizens 60 years of age or older.

Supermarketing for Seniors has served the elderly neighbors of Greenwich since 1986, and currently the program provides shopping and support services to 160 seniors each year.
