“The Significance of the Battle of Fairfield Swamp Fight in the Pequot War”

“The Significance of the Battle of Fairfield Swamp Fight in the Pequot War”    will be the subject  of  Professor Kevin McBride      at  the AAG  meeting on  Saturday, May 13 at 2 p.m.  The lecture will be  held  at  the Bruce Museum, One Museum Drive, Greenwich, Connecticut. Free to AAG,  Bruce Museum members and students with  ID.  Non-member   admission is   $15.
Celebrating  380 years, the Pequot War (1636-1637) remains one of the most controversial and significant events in the Colonial and Native history of North America. Most significant were the battles  of Mistick Fort and the  Battle of Fairfield Swamp.  Professor McBride’s lecture will explore the events leading up to  the  battles and the role that  Battlefield Archaeology has in reconstructing the battle event,  tactics and weapons used by the English and Pequot combatants.
